Social media helps in building easy connections. Using social media one can connect to millions of like-minded individuals around the globe, they are just a click or a follow away. This helps them in building genuine connections and share valuable relation. When we see a blog of our favorite writer, we tend to leave a comment. People with different thoughts intermingle with each other, leaving the geographical boundaries behind. Similarly, when we want to share our thoughts and pictures we can always go to Instagram or Facebook. They both provide a platform to millions of users worldwide to socialize with each other. Everyone has become accessible through social media right from our favorite celebrities to common people. Furthermore, in tuft’s research paper, it was elaborated that “social media not only allows you to hear what people say about you but enables you to respond. Listen first, speak second”. Social media allows people to connect irrespective of their places, they can socialize in any part of the world. All they need is an internet connection. Users cannot only see and like the post, but they can also share their thoughts in the comment section. We can share our photos, thoughts, videos in form of posts that will connect us with our family, friends, and many more. Social media always has something new, every day we come to new posts, news feeds, and their comment section, due to this we can connect with new friends and this proves social media doesn’t need physical interactions to make new friends. It also helps in co-development and improves our social skills.

Social media helps in co-development and improves social skills. As we know it's an online community it helps us in mastering the art of communication even if we are introverts, as introverts find it easy to chat and communicate rather than being present physically. Everyone irrespective of their identities and opinions can connect and socialize. There is a high possibility that someone might feel left out due to difference of opinion on various subjects with their family, this can undermine their personal growth and be a hindrance in expressing their opinions, such platforms act as a boon for them because they can connect to like-minded people who would not criticize or abhor them, they can express themselves in a much better way and this would boost their confidence and give them a sense of belonging. Furthermore, the author Janelle Saenz has elaborated that, “being part of a group, they need continued, frequent positive interaction with like individuals”. This explains the importance of how social media helps in making individuals feel belonged to a group and they don’t feel left out. Lastly, it also benefits businesses by creating a brand presence.
